NEW! Debt Reduction Program

California Child Support Services announces the new Debt Reduction Program. Formerly known as Compromise of Arrears Program (COAP), the new Debt Reduction Program provides eligible parents with past-due child support payments the opportunity to reduce the amount they owe to the government.

The process is simple:
• Contact your local child support agency for an application.
• Submit a completed Debt Reduction Program application.
• Make an offer towards the state owed arrears balance.
• Provide the required documentation per the application.

Parents who meet the eligibility requirements for this program may be able to significantly reduce their child support arrears debt owed to the state.
