[00:00:02] does the child support program. As we
[00:00:05] celebrate child support awareness month
[00:00:07] this August, we want to share how this
[00:00:09] vital program is evolving to meet the
[00:00:12] needs of modern families. At Kern County
[00:00:15] Child Support Services, we are dedicated
[00:00:17] to helping ensure that children receive
[00:00:19] the financial and medical resources
[00:00:21] necessary for their well-being. And this
[00:00:24] year, we have elevated our customer
[00:00:26] experience and reduced traditional
[00:00:28] barriers by creating online appointments
[00:00:31] to shorten weight times in our office,
[00:00:33] offering Saturday appointments and
[00:00:35] making our services available countywide
[00:00:38] through our automated kiosks and new
[00:00:40] mobile office. We leveraged technology
[00:00:44] to create a new simplified enrollment
[00:00:46] process and introduced Docu Sign. So now
[00:00:49] customers can sign documents remotely
[00:00:52] without having to come into the office.
[00:00:54] We cultivated community networks by
[00:00:57] partnering with the Kern County Library,
[00:00:59] Employers Training Resource, the Family
[00:01:02] Law Facilitator Office, Kern County
[00:01:04] Probation, and the Family Justice
[00:01:06] Center, offering workshops and services
[00:01:09] to our parents. And this month, we’re
[00:01:11] celebrating our 16th annual Ready, Set,
[00:01:14] Back to School Health Fair, the largest
[00:01:17] backpack giveaway event in Kern County.
[00:01:20] These strategic innovations have allowed
[00:01:22] us to serve over 39,000 Kern County
[00:01:25] families this fiscal year, impacting
[00:01:28] 51,000 children by distributing 86
[00:01:31] million to help improve lives in our
[00:01:34] community. This Child Support Awareness
[00:01:37] Month, we’re investing in the future.
[00:01:39] One that’s modern, fair, and focused on
[00:01:42] what really matters, children.
